Rebecca Ann Lang (Becky)

Rebecca Ann Lang (Becky)
Aug. 29, 1963-Aug. 10, 2019.

Rebecca Ann Lang (Becky) passed away on August 10, 2019 after a
long and courageous battle with Metastatic Breast Cancer. She fought
valiantly to the end. We already miss her so much, but we can also
take comfort in knowing that she is no longer sick or in pain. She is
whole again.

Becky was born in Salt Lake City to William (Bill) Joseph Lang
and June Gay Norman on August 29, 1963. She married Chris Mahoney on
August 22, 1983 and they would later go on to have two children,
Jessica and Wesley. She was a hard worker, a loving and caring mom
and grandma. She always taught us that honesty and integrity were the
most important personality traits a person could possess. She loved
doing arts and crafts and going for walks. She was tough as nails and
stubborn as hell, all the way up until the day she died, but we loved
her for it. And if you didn't, you missed out.

Towards the end, her health had deteriorated so badly that she
was on a pain pump and a whole cocktail of other medications, which
made her very groggy, sleepy and out of it. I came into the room and
began to cry because it was so hard to see my mom in that condition.
She sat up in her bed and with much concern in her voice said "why are
you crying" I responded "because I love you and I'm just worried about
you". She immediately perked up and declared "but i'm having a great
time!" My aunt and me burst out laughing. I was laughing and crying at
the same time, it was amazing.

Our mom loved scary stories and would listen to them every night
before bed. She was a die hard fan of Stephen King and owned nearly
every book he wrote. She once cancelled a date because she was in the
middle of one of his books and didn't want to put it down. She loved
the TV series Breaking Bad and Dexter and even had a Beta fish named,
Pinkmann. You won't get the reference unless you have watched Breaking
Bad...

Our mom was able find the strength to go on one last vacation in
June with her sister, Sheree Hartley, to the beautiful state of, Maine
and had a wonderful time. She talked about it often.

My brother and I are so grateful and feel incredibly blessed to
have been able to spend the time that we did with our mom before she
passed. It was very special and we will never forget those beautiful
memories.

Becky is preceded in death by her mother and father, June Norman
and William (Bill) Lang. She is survived by her children, Jessica
Mahoney, Wesley Mahoney and her beloved grandchildren, Jaden Clark,
Tyler Garzarelli and Parker Mahoney.

A graveside service will be held on August 30, 2019 at 11:00 A.M.
in the Mt. Olivet Cemetery to remember our beautiful mom, grandmother,
sister and friend.

Smile, it's what she would have wanted.
